Postdoc Researcher - Visualization

The Network Science and Machine Intelligence department at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center is seeking researchers to conduct fundamental and applied research in Visualization.

Our team targets at creating Artificial Intelligence solutions based on Graph Computing. The human brain is a giant graph, performing four major functions: memorization, observation, judgment & perception, and abstract reasoning & strategy. Graphs are our natural way to remember, correlate, and understand all that surrounds us. To mimic the human experience of intelligence, graph computing can play a key role. We define graph computing machines as those that store, analyze, and interpret data through graph databases, graph topological analytics, and with probabilistic graphical models such as artificial neural networks, Bayesian networks, or game-theoretical networks.

Our projects offer the opportunity to work with customers in various industries, especially in the Financial Services Sector (banks) and the government sector, to create novel artificial intelligence solutions. You will work with team members with backgrounds in Signal Processing, Network Science, Machine Learning, Information Retrieval, Natural Language Processing, High Performance Computing, Visualization, Economics, Database, etc., as well as collaborating with academic partners in universities. Our lab has access to large computing resources and data. We encourage researchers actively publishing papers, creating software to solve real-world problems, and contributing to high-quality research communities. We are recruiting scientists with multi-disciplinary backgrounds. The successful candidate will be the one with visionary research credentials who can advance emerging sciences to the next level.

The World is Our Laboratory: No matter where discovery takes place, IBM researchers push the boundaries of science, technology and business to make the world work better. IBM Research is a global community of forward-thinkers working towards a common goal: progress.
